Shanklin Theatre Workshop and Show
Workshop
The workshop at Shanklin theatre is a fun introduction to how a professional show is created. It lasts approximately two hours and during that time the children will be taught a short production, which includes singing, dancing, and presenting which they will perform to the teachers at the end of the workshop. A DVD of the performance is then given to the group.
The children will also be shown a demonstration of theatrical lighting, the sound system will be explained with help from some pupils on microphones, and we take them a short tour of the theatre which includes a question-and-answer session.
The workshop is run with two professional performers who work in the industry and is a lively, interactive, educational, fun introduction to theatre.
Show
For thirty years we have been running the hugely popular ‘kids’ shows throughout May, June, and July to visiting school parties.
This year the show is called ‘Wild’ and is a comedy about cowboys searching for gold in the wild west of America.
The show is packed full of silly jokes and modern pop songs and is guaranteed to have the children (and teachers) dancing, singing, and laughing from start to finish. Some schools even come in fancy dress to add to the atmosphere.
For an action packed, funny, musical, and noisy evening that the children will love you can’t go wrong with our show, and who knows maybe they will learn something as well.
